On September 29, 2025, Joakim Byström, CEO of Absolicon Solar Collector AB, visited ZESA Enterprises in Harare, Zimbabwe, for a strategic site visit. He was accompanied by Lars Ling, CEO of CleanTech Region Group.

Hosted by Engineer Moyo Pedzisai, the delegation visited the planned location for what is aimed to become Africa’s first solar thermal energy production line and factory.

The visit marks a decisive step in the collaboration between Absolicon and ZESA Enterprises — a partnership designed to localize advanced solar thermal technology, accelerate industrial decarbonization, and strengthen Zimbabwe’s role in the global energy transition.
By establishing a production line in Harare, the ambition is clear: To manufacture high-performance solar collectors locally, create skilled jobs, transfer Nordic clean technology know-how, and enable sustainable heat solutions for African industries.
“This is not just about energy,” the delegation emphasized. “It’s about industrial transformation, resilience, and long-term climate impact.”
With CleanTech Region Group facilitating strategic advisory and partnership alignment, the project represents a powerful bridge between Nordic innovation and African opportunity.
A new chapter in sustainable industrialization is taking shape — right here in Harare.
