Welcome to Almedalen — a unique destination. Each summer, the historic park in Visby on the island of Gotland becomes the world’s largest open democratic meeting place. It is a lively forum where politics, ideas, and people unite in a genuine democratic spirit. almedalsveckan.info+1
Since 2009, I have been attending Almedalen and can highly recommend this event on the beautiful island of Gotland.

What began in 1968 with a spontaneous speech by a young politician has grown into Almedalsveckan — a week of free, open-to-all dialogue, debate, and exchange on the pressing issues of our time. Here, politicians, thought leaders, innovators, NGOs, business voices, and everyday citizens mingle, listen, and learn from one another in an atmosphere of mutual respect and shared purpose. almedalsveckan.info
In Visby's cobblestone streets and tree-lined park paths, spontaneous meetings ignite fresh ideas, collaborations soar, and democracy is not merely a topic of discussion—it's a way of life. Thousands convene not in secluded rooms, but in open circles, cafés, stages, and squares, transforming Almedalen into more than just an event; it becomes a living, breathing celebration of democratic engagement. This goes beyond politics — it's a movement. A gathering spot for voices from diverse backgrounds. A venue where dialogue influences society. Welcome to Almedalen.
Enjoy interviews with two prominent figures in Almedalen.
Pär Larshans, Chief Sustainability Officer at Ragnsells, about "Close the Poop Loop".
Ronny Eriksson, Entrepreneur and Co-founder of Odd-festival "Being Odd".
It was great to capture the heartbeat of democracy and a regenerative society.
